Configuring Booking Rules

Last updated March 11, 2026

Booking Rules control how bookings, rooms, and guides interact across your lodge. Configure them in Settings > Booking Rules.

Room & Lodging Rules

  • Shared rooms -- Allow multiple bookings to overlap in the same room. Useful for bunkhouse-style lodging. See Shared Room Bookings.
  • Room turnover days (0-7) -- Buffer days between checkout and the next check-in for cleaning and maintenance. See Room Turnover Days.
  • Room assignment mode -- How rooms are assigned to bookings:
    • Auto-assign -- Hookset picks the smallest available room.
    • Guest selects -- Guest chooses during public booking checkout.
    • Lodge assigns -- Staff assigns rooms manually after booking. See Room Assignment Modes.

Guide Scheduling Rules

  • Auto-generate trip days -- When enabled, trip days are created automatically when a booking is saved, based on the variant's guided days setting.
  • Shared guides -- Allow the same guide to be assigned to multiple bookings on the same day. See Guide Rest Days and Shared Guides.
  • Guide rest days (0-7) -- Minimum days off between a guide's last trip day and their next assignment.

Public Booking Toggles

Control what appears on your public booking page:

  • Guided fishing -- Show guided fishing packages and day rates.
  • Lodging -- Show overnight packages and room selection.
  • Gear rentals -- Show gear rental items that guests can add to their booking.

Toggle these off to hide categories from the public page while still using them for internal bookings.

Package Settings

  • Max guided days -- The maximum number of guided days allowed per booking.
  • Max lodging nights -- The maximum number of nights allowed per booking.

These limits apply to both public and dashboard-created bookings.

Capacity Management

The Capacity Management card within Booking Rules controls lodge-wide limits. See Setting Capacity Limits for details.
