Capacity settings prevent overbooking by limiting how many guests your lodge can accommodate per day. Configure them in the Capacity Management card within Settings > Booking Rules.
Daily Guest Cap
The maximum number of guests your lodge can host on any single day across all bookings. This accounts for lodging capacity, dining capacity, or any other physical constraint.
Set this to 0 to disable the cap (unlimited guests).
Daily Guided Guest Cap
The maximum number of guests that can be on guided trips on any single day. This can be:
- Auto-calculated -- Hookset sums the max guests per day across all active guides to determine the cap automatically.
- Manual override -- Enter a specific number if you want to limit guided capacity below the calculated maximum (e.g., to leave buffer for guide rest).
Overbooking Mode
Controls what happens when a new booking would exceed capacity:
- Block -- Prevents the booking from being created entirely. The dates appear as unavailable on both the public booking page and the dashboard booking form.
- Warn -- Allows dashboard users to create the booking with a warning message, but blocks the dates on the public booking page. This gives your staff flexibility while protecting against guest-initiated overbooking.
Note: The public booking page always blocks overbooked dates regardless of overbooking mode. The "warn" mode only allows overrides from the dashboard.
Capacity Widget on Dashboard
The dashboard Capacity Widget reflects these settings. It shows a 14-day forecast with bars representing the percentage of guide and guest capacity booked each day. Days at or over capacity are highlighted in red.
