Setting Up Rooms

Who Can Use Rooms

Rooms are available on the Pro and Lodge plans. Free plan lodges do not have access to room management.

Plan limits: Pro allows up to 5 rooms. Lodge allows unlimited rooms. If you're on the Free plan, upgrade to Pro under Settings > Billing to unlock this feature.

Adding Your First Room

  1. Go to Settings > Rooms.
  2. Click Add Room.
  3. Fill out the room form (see fields below).
  4. Click Save Room.

The room will now appear in booking creation, the occupancy calendar, and any package variants that reference a specific room.

Room Form Fields

Name A short label used throughout the dashboard and in guest-facing materials. Examples: "Riverside Cabin", "Bunkhouse A", "Suite 2".

Capacity The maximum number of guests the room can accommodate. Hookset uses this when checking whether a booking can be assigned to the room.

Price Per Night The nightly rate for this room. This is used as the default when the room is added to a package variant. You can override the price per variant if needed.

Minimum Nights The shortest stay you'll accept for this room. Leave at 1 if you have no minimum. This is enforced during public booking checkout.

Bed Configuration Enter the number of each bed type:

  • King beds
  • Queen beds
  • Twin beds

Bed counts are shown to guests during room selection and help them choose the right accommodation for their group.

Description A longer description of the room shown to guests during online booking. Mention amenities, views, accessibility features, or anything else relevant to the guest's decision.

Editing a Room

From Settings > Rooms, click the room name or the edit icon on the right. Make your changes and click Save Room. Updates take effect immediately, including on any future bookings that reference this room.

Deactivating a Room

If a room is temporarily unavailable (under renovation, off-season), you can deactivate it rather than deleting it. Deactivated rooms no longer appear during booking creation but retain their history in past bookings.

To deactivate, open the room's edit form and toggle Active to off.

Deleting a Room

Rooms with no existing bookings can be deleted. Rooms that are referenced by bookings or package variants cannot be deleted — deactivate them instead.
