Setting Up Day Rates

Last updated March 11, 2026

What Are Day Rates?

Day rates are guided fishing charges billed per day. They are separate from the base package price and represent the cost of a guide's time for a single fishing day. Day rates appear as line items on bookings and on your public booking page.

Use day rates when guests can add extra guided days to a trip, or when your pricing model is built around a daily guide fee rather than a fixed package price.

Creating a Day Rate

Go to Settings → Packages and select the Day Rates tab. Click Add Day Rate and fill in:

  1. Name — A clear label for this rate (e.g., "Full-Day Guided Float", "Half-Day Wading"). This name appears on the booking detail and guest confirmation.
  2. Price — The charge for one day at this rate.
  3. Pricing Mode — Choose Per Guest or Flat Rate.
    • Per Guest charges each guest in the booking separately. A $200 per-guest day rate applied to a group of 3 adds $600 to the booking for that day.
    • Flat Rate charges a single fixed amount for the day regardless of how many guests are fishing.
  4. Description — Optional. A short note explaining what this rate covers (e.g., "Includes guide, drift boat, and lunch"). Shown on the public booking page.

Click Save to add the rate.

Applying a Day Rate to a Booking

When creating or editing a booking, open the Trip Days section. Each day of the trip is listed. Click on a day to assign a day rate to it. Select from the saved day rates — the charge is calculated automatically based on guest count and pricing mode.

You can assign different day rates to different days within the same booking. For example, a 5-night stay might have 3 full-day float days and 1 half-day wading day.

How Day Rates Appear on the Public Booking Page

If your package variants include guided days, guests will see available day rate options during the booking flow. They can select which rate applies to each guided day before completing their booking.

Tip: If you only offer one type of guided day, you can pre-set the day rate on the package variant so guests do not need to choose.

Editing and Deactivating Day Rates

To change a rate, click on it in the Day Rates list and update the fields. Changes apply to new bookings only — existing bookings are not affected.

To remove a day rate from the active list, use the Active toggle. Inactive day rates are hidden from the booking form but remain in the system for historical reference.

Note: Deleting a day rate that is referenced by existing bookings is not allowed. Deactivate it instead.
