What Are Add-ons?
Add-ons are one-time extras that guests can include with their booking. Unlike day rates (which are charged per fishing day) or gear rentals (which are charged per day of rental), add-ons are charged once per booking regardless of trip length. Common examples include airport transfers, fishing licenses, photo packages, and welcome gift baskets.
Add-ons vs. Day Rates
The key difference is how and how often the charge applies:
- Add-ons — A single flat or per-guest charge added once to the booking total.
- Day Rates — A charge applied to each guided fishing day within the booking.
Use an add-on for anything a guest selects once at booking time. Use a day rate for anything that scales with the number of days fished.
Creating an Add-on
Go to Settings → Packages and select the Add-ons tab. Click Add Add-on and fill in:
- Name — The add-on name as guests will see it (e.g., "Airport Transfer", "Fishing License", "Photo Package"). Use clear, descriptive names.
- Price — The charge for this add-on.
- Pricing Mode — Choose Per Guest or Flat Rate.
- Per Guest multiplies the price by the number of guests. A $15 per-guest fishing license fee for a group of 4 adds $60 to the booking.
- Flat Rate charges a single fixed amount for the add-on. An $80 airport transfer is the same cost no matter how many people are in the vehicle.
- Description — Optional. Additional context guests may need when deciding whether to select the add-on (e.g., "Round-trip transfer from Billings Logan International Airport. Departs at 3:00 PM on check-in day.").
Click Save to add the add-on.
Adding an Add-on to a Booking
When creating or editing a booking, open the Add-ons & Gear section. Available add-ons are listed with their price. Select the ones the guest has requested. The totals are calculated automatically based on guest count and pricing mode.
Add-ons appear as separate line items on the booking detail page and in the guest's confirmation email.
Tip: You can add or remove add-ons after a booking is created by editing the booking. If the guest has already paid a deposit, any additional charges will increase the remaining balance due.
How Add-ons Appear on the Public Booking Page
Active add-ons are offered as optional selections during the public booking flow, after the guest chooses a package variant. They can check or uncheck each add-on before completing their booking. The running total updates as they make selections.
Pro + Lodge: Displaying add-ons on the public booking page requires a Pro or Lodge plan.
Editing and Deactivating Add-ons
To update an add-on, click on it in the Add-ons list and edit the fields. Price changes apply to new bookings only — existing bookings are not affected.
To stop offering an add-on, use the Active toggle. Inactive add-ons are hidden from the booking form and the public booking page but remain in the system for historical reference.
