You can change your plan at any time from the Billing page. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades apply at the end of your current billing cycle.
Upgrading
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Upgrade next to the plan you want.
- You're redirected to Stripe Checkout to enter payment details.
- After payment, your plan upgrades immediately.
Prorated Billing
When you upgrade mid-cycle, Hookset prorates the charge. You only pay the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remaining days in your billing period. Starting next month, you're charged the full new plan price.
What Changes Immediately
- Feature gates unlock (Guide Board, Rooms, etc.).
- Plan limits increase (more guides, rooms, team members).
- Platform fee decreases to the new plan's rate.
Downgrading
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Downgrade next to the lower plan.
- Confirm the change.
The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You continue to have access to your current plan's features until then.
What Happens to Your Data
- Data is retained -- All bookings, guests, guides, rooms, and settings remain in your account.
- Features are gated -- Features not included in the lower plan become inaccessible but your data is preserved.
- Limits apply -- If you exceed the new plan's limits (e.g., 15 guides on a Pro plan with a 10-guide limit), existing records are preserved but you cannot add new ones until you're within limits.
Note: No data is deleted when you downgrade. If you upgrade again later, everything is still there.
