The onboarding wizard runs automatically after you verify your email. It takes about five minutes and covers the three pieces of information Hookset needs before you can take your first booking: your lodge details, your operating seasons, and your first package.
Note: The wizard is optional. You can click Skip for now on any step and return to finish setup later via Settings.
Step 1 -- Lodge Details
This step captures the core information about your lodge.
- Lodge name -- The name displayed on all guest-facing confirmation emails and the public booking page.
- Address -- Your lodge's physical address, used on invoices and confirmation documents.
- Timezone -- Set this to your lodge's local timezone. All booking dates and check-in/check-out times are stored and displayed in this timezone.
- Website -- Optional. If provided, it appears as a link on your public booking page.
Click Continue when finished.
Step 2 -- Operating Seasons
Seasons define the date ranges when your lodge accepts bookings. You need at least one season before creating packages.
- Click Add Season.
- Enter a Season name (e.g., Spring, Summer, Fall).
- Set the Start date and End date for the season.
- Click Save Season.
You can add multiple seasons to cover your full operating year.
Tip: You can edit and add seasons at any time from Settings after completing the wizard.
Step 3 -- First Package
Packages are the top-level trip categories you offer (for example, "Half-Day Float Trip" or "Guided Overnight"). Each package can have one or more variants underneath it with specific pricing and configuration.
- Enter a Package name.
- Write an optional Description to help guests understand what's included.
- Choose a Package type -- day trip or overnight.
- Toggle Includes meals and Includes lodging if applicable.
- Click Save Package to finish.
Hookset creates the package and takes you to your dashboard.
Note: You don't need to configure pricing or variants here. That's done in Packages after onboarding.
Finishing Setup Later
If you skipped any step, you can complete it at any time:
- Lodge details -- Settings > Lodge Profile
- Seasons -- Settings > Seasons
- Packages and variants -- Packages in the sidebar
