The problem
Chasing balances is one of the least enjoyable parts of running a lodge. You confirmed the booking months ago, the guests are arriving next week, and you're sending a third email reminder about the remaining balance. Meanwhile, someone else is Venmoing deposits and losing track of what's been paid.
Most lodges patch this together with Square for in-person payments, Venmo or Zelle for deposits, and manual tracking in a spreadsheet. It works until a refund comes up or you need to reconcile the season.
Hookset uses Stripe Connect to handle payments end to end. Deposits collected at booking, automated balance reminders, refunds with an audit trail, and all funds go directly to your lodge's Stripe account.
How it works
Connect your Stripe account
Link your existing Stripe account or create one through Hookset. Takes about five minutes. Funds settle to your bank on Stripe's normal schedule.
Collect deposits at booking
Set a deposit amount per package, flat rate or percentage. Guests pay it automatically when they confirm their booking online, or you record it manually.
Auto-send balance reminders
Hookset sends automated balance due reminders at intervals you configure, 60, 30, and 14 days before arrival are common. Guests pay via a secure link.
Guests pay via link, funds go to your account
Every payment goes through Stripe Connect directly to your lodge account. Hookset never holds your money. Refunds are processed through the same connection.
